ABOUT THE ARTIST
"Anhel"
I have a thing for steampunk era styles.
I have been drawing since I can remember, however it was always half-hearted and more of a doodling than anything else. I never thought I would be able to accomplish anything big and art wasn't my focus. This changed at age 14, when I fell in love with a particularly simple yet cute drawing style; it is that of which comes from Louis Sachar's hilarious book, "Sideways Stories from Wayside School". After reading that book, my interest to draw peaked again. Having always been a lonesome and quiet individual, art was how I envision my escape from my lonesome and bland world. To this day I am still working hard with much improvement to be gotten, but I have reached a point where I can say - I made it.
But the journey is so so far from over. The scariest and most disheartening challenge has come upon me as it does for every artist aspiring to make there corner in this vast world. Exposure. It is that point where you make or break the individual. We are all massed in a pool of diverse artist with different backgrounds, cultures and likes; and trying to get people to accept your work so you can pursue your dreams is near impossible without knowing where to begin. But anyone will tell you that exposure is the key to finding out where that beginning is.
So I hope, by exposing myself, both literally and artistically, I can gain a foot hold in the next step of an artist's path. Here is a portfolio of things I have done in the past and where I might want to head for the future. Right now, I am mostly going with the flow, mainly to see where it takes me because trying to force yourself into a niche you dont want to be in never works. The crossfade blends together alot of my favorite concepts and styles and I hope to further it more.

Styles
I work in a variety of styles, including my own original style which leans more to realistic, but tend to incorporate some of the cuter mechanics of anime art styles such as larger skulls and eyes. The Crossfade is based on this style.
My Style
AnimeThe traditional anime style where as proportions are skewed. Facials are extremely exaggerated, and Hair adopts wild colors and designs.

Disney Cartoon StyleArt is colorful, bright and energetic with high saturation and contrasts. Features proportions much like Disney's current style.
|
Real/Semi-RealisticStyle is much closer to real-life proportions and physics. Colors have lower saturation values and contrasts. Alot more detail is added to ground the work more tightly to reality.

Inking
I participated in the October 2016 "Inktober" challenge. I started late so I didn't get to do all the prompts, but I really enjoyed inking and realized It was something I could probably work with in the future. I am even compelled to buy some Ink and a pen and try my hand at traditional inking.
Fanart and Artwork for Other Establiments
I have done a variety fan art for game companies and other media. Here are just a few.
